That's not to say all crossovers are bad, but damn it would be disheartening to see a board state of cartoon ponies to your left and someone going for game with a battle bus and 40 thopter tokens that are just Fortnite ads on a single floating balloon to your right. DBZ, for example, has its own relatively successful card game so it feels superfluous to start stacking unrelated IPs under the MTG umbrella for the heck of it. Don't think I'd be willing to play against any of those sets since they're such eyesores and break the spirit of the game for me. MLP and Fortnite bodes horribly for the future of the MTG franchise and it's gonna be annoying to be lumped into those fan bases against my will. I'm skeptical of FF but could see it working out well depending on the art direction. Nashi, Moon's Legacy is just peak kuriboh vibes (you know the feeling of pulling a card and being like wow I want this little fella on my shoulder) so I'm building a midrange Sultai rat tribal just to get him on the board lol he's got spunk and I dig itĮdit: I guess my least favorite aesthetics are the unfitting crossovers (Warhammer, LOTR are exempt from this because artistically, mechanically, and thematically they mesh with MTG pretty damn well) things like Doctor Who, Transformers, Walking Dead, Stranger Things yadda yadda just stick out like a sore thumb in a similar way to those awful champion art cards. This, perhaps, is what the artist is going for? (I will freely admit that ] does kinda blow up this whole argument, though.)Īnd if she's trying to keep the sword from flying off, then the about-to-cut-off-her-own-head thing starts to make sense-she went through the wall with the sword braced at three points (left hand, right hand, and tucked against the gorget part of her armor) and is only just starting to transition it out of safe-keeping and into action. The sword is more a symbol that you want to hang on tight to while you Kool-Aid-Man through walls than it is a tool that gets actual use. This is very consonant with the idea that Archangel Elspeth accomplishes her tasks simply by suddenly appearing places, not by hitting things with her sword. Did you know you can turn your phone into a M. Wallpapers Categories All Wallpapers App Icons. Free aesthetic icons for apps here Home Wallpapers. Biblical angels do not do an awful lot of smiting mostly they just suddenly appear and are so terrifying that they have to be constantly telling good people not to be afraid. Customize your phone with Cool Icons Without Shortcuts just in a Few Taps. there is, I think, substantial cultural precedent for the idea that angels accomplish much of what they do through posing alone. Ha, fair! I'm totally prepared to believe that the artist is just being silly.
